MD058 - Microsoft and Yahoo: yes or no?

<--- previous next —>

Only a few days ago, Microsoft offered $44.6 Billion to buy Yahoo. We asked people on the street (3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, to be precise) whether they thought the buyout was in Yahoo’s favor. We’ll ask you too: should Yahoo have accepted Microsoft’s $44.6 Billion offer?

Digg!

You’re kinda late for this. Yahoo! already rejected the bid a few days ago.

Microsoft and Yahoo: Does it blend?

  3. William Says:

Am I the only one with raised eyebrows over the fact it was done outside an Apple Store, those places have a real anti-Microsoft influence on people. :D

    Yep, rejected…thanks GOD! LOL

    Imagine…
Microsoft + Yahoo = Flickr service alot bugs…lol
Microsoft make a Windows Vista, the worse system of the WOLRD!

If Yahoo wants to beat Google they could do it without Microsoft.

The real stories from this episode…
    1) Kurt Cobain is alive and living in Santa Monica! (2:22)
    2) Mahalo valued at a cool 1000 bucks by surf star Peter King. I think you should hold out for more though.

As someone who works at Yahoo, I’m getting really tired of watching all these opinion pieces from people who don’t fully understand the situation or who aren’t looking at the big picture.

How on earth is a company that makes over $600 million dollars in profit every year get classified as a “dying company that can’t survive on it’s own.”

    *sigh* Darn media.

When was this filmed. I work on the Promenade in fact the store I work at was shown. Anyways I agree, screw MS, Yahoo needs to stay independent.

  8. Uilleam Says:

@William, I caught that too. Oh well.

Has anyone else noticed that after an extremely long period of not rolling anything new and of consequence out, and laying off a large amount of employees, Yahoo has started rolling out new features at a phrenetic pace.

I smell desperation in the air. Where were these products when it mattered?

At least Mahalo is here to stay. Hooray!

Well i think it is a great idea. Because yahoo seams to be losing it’s grip on people. Alot of people are now using gmail instead of Y-mail. The people who hate microsoft can’t say that there will be bugs because microsoft completely dominates the software industry and vista may not have been that succesful but everynew computers still coming with it. The point is there is nothing wrong with microsoft. A Microsoft buying yahoo could help the two companies grow, but they will never have a chance against google.

my opinion is, that they should
once you get a good price for your shares, you have to sell them immidiately
if they think it is not a good price, than they have to call their doctor
